Limited Edition Branding & How You Can Make it Unique

If you’ve ever said “I wish I could make a more personal connection with consumers, but I don’t even know where to start” then you’ve come to the right place!

Although that statement is pretty specific, there are so many ways to make a more meaningful connection with your consumer base and we’re here to tell you all about it.

Limited Editions product releases are used in a variety of ways including:

  • Key Milestone Recognition
  • Limited Time Offering
  • Holiday Celebrations or Seasonal Trends
  • Exclusive “1 of 500” Product Releases
  • Collaborations with Designers, Artists, Celebrities, Athletes, and Companies

Reaching key milestones for any company is always a proud moment and an exciting time. Releasing limited edition products to commemorate the occasion is a great way to honor the past while looking towards the future. This can be achieved by creating a special name plate to be used on all products for the anniversary year. Differentiate them from the usual corporate badging by incorporating a specific range of years “1921-2021” or “Celebrating 100 Years”. This not only shows that the product collection is special but it also conveys reliability to a consumer. If a consumer doesn't know corporate history, but sees on-product branding showing 100 years, they’ll likely think “clearly they know how to make a coffee maker that works, so I’ll buy this one!”

Another great way to amp up the feeling of exclusivity with your consumers is by introducing a  limited edition color offering. These types of products are typically released after the standard offering has been available in the market. We’ve seen this happen often in the golf industry where companies go to market with traditional chrome clubs and then release a “blackout” version to attract additional consumers by only offering it for a limited amount of time. With a variety of metallic finish options available, LaFrance can assist in creating both the initial offering and the specialty offering.

Some consumer industries release products with special packaging/product branding to celebrate the holidays. We see this most often in the Cosmetics industry as people gravitate towards lip glosses, compacts, and palettes for the perfect stocking stuffers. These limited edition collections often have unique branding that totally differentiates the holiday line from their standard offering. This is where LaFrance can really shine, literally! With glitter finishes, iridescent paints, and metallic accents, our product offering is perfect for these types of limited editions.

There’s nothing more exclusive than releasing a product edition with unique features allowing the company to market it as a “1 of 500” produced in the world. Seen most often in the Automotive industry, what better way to convey exclusivity than engraving or etching a special note like “No:  57 of 500” with our Electroform technology? This creates an instant connection with the consumer. The driver proudly displays their affection for the brand and all their passengers experience that exclusivity story every time they catch a ride.

Q:  What’s better than one recognizable brand/name?
A:  Two!

The strategy of collaboration is such a great way to reach more of an audience. Capturing your normal base + the base of the other is just smart business. We’ve seen this in many of the industries we support. Collaborative branding can be done by incorporating both company logos on one name plate or using specific color combinations to depict the partnership.

With such a diverse product offering of 10 base materials coupled with unlimited finishes, textures, and patterns, LaFrance is able to convey the story of exclusivity to your audience to make them feel special. We are ready to assist with these and any other limited edition product launches you’ve got planned.
