Mastering On-product Branding for the Golf Industry

For over 20 years, LaFrance has helped the world’s biggest names in golf with winning brand value. At the upcoming 2023 Master’s Tournament, clubs with LaFrance name plates, functional parts, and decorative components will be used by some of the world’s top golf pros. Experts at marrying form and function, LaFrance excels at meeting the design, manufacturing, and quality requirements that the golf industry demands, helping to provide premium aesthetics and superior product performance for their equipment. This is why industry leaders like Callaway, TaylorMade, Titleist, PXG, and PING partner with LaFrance to support their innovative golf club designs.

One of our recent golf projects is the unique 22-piece PurFlex cavity badge. Featured on PING’s G430 irons, the badge construction includes 4 pieces of aluminum, 3 pieces of carbon fiber, 7 pieces of adhesive, 7 plastic backplates and 1 adhesive backing layer. Altogether, this combination of materials creates 7 different zones on the face of the badge that supports PING’s PurFlex technology. The innovative seven-section badge allows for more flexibility and vibration absorption than a larger, single-piece design.

Players covet the performance-enhancing features of their clubs, but also desire attractive-looking equipment. On the PING G430 iron, the strong carbon fiber and sleek aluminum material combination on the face of the PurFlex badge supports product performance while delivering distinctive aesthetics.

The sturdy weave of carbon fiber conveys precision and performance in appearance and helps deliver those values on the golf course as well. Aluminum’s lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant properties are ideal for the wear and tear of usage, as well as the exposure to elements that clubs must endure. The brushed and sandblasted finishing, raised surfaces, and chamfered details on the aluminum areas of the PurFlex badge are appealing aesthetic details that look good while supporting the iron’s durability and performance.

Our golf industry experts help create an enhanced user experience on woods, irons, hybrids, wedges, and putters for the most recognized golf companies in the world. However, at LaFrance, we embrace the “look good, perform well” golf design strategy in every industry we work with.
